The ARRT Radiography content specifications (board approved January 2021, implemented January 1, 2022) divide the 200 scored questions into Patient Care 33, Safety 50, Image Production 51 and Procedures 66; each exam also carries 30 unscored pilot questions. ARRT reports a scaled score from 1 to 99 and a scaled score of 75 is required to pass; the number of correct answers behind 75 varies by exam version and is not a percentage. The primary handbook lists 230 minutes of testing time; the portal mock uses the 200 scored questions in 200 minutes. ARRT requires a scaled score of 75 on a 1 to 99 scale, and the number of correct answers behind that score varies by exam version, so the percent score in the portal mock is only a rough self-check. ARRT sets the examination fee and reports of the current amount differ between sites, so no amount is quoted here; confirm the current fee on arrt.org before you apply. The content outline spreads questions across 8 areas; the largest are Patient Interactions and Management (16.5%); Radiation Protection (14.5%); Extremity Procedures (14.0%). The full list of areas and weights is on the portal exam page. ARRT requires an education, ethics and examination pathway; confirm the current requirements and documents on arrt.org.
