CIA Part 2 exam requirements & cost
Straight from the certifying body — separate from what we charge for the study portal.
CIA Part 2 is one component of the overall CIA certification program administered by The IIA, and eligibility is assessed once for the whole program rather than per part. Candidates need a bachelor's degree plus 2 years of internal audit experience (or a master's degree plus 1 year), a signed character reference from a current IIA-certified professional or supervisor, and proof of identification; candidates without a degree may qualify via the Internal Audit Practitioner (IAP) pathway plus 5 years of experience. Fees consist of a one-time program application fee of $120 (IIA members) or $240 (non-members), plus a Part 2 exam fee of $280 (members) or $415 (non-members). Once accepted, candidates have 3 years to complete all three exam parts.
