You need a grade of 70 percent or better to pass a Texas knowledge exam. The practice set here is a study tool, not a prediction of your result. The DPS driver license fee page we read lists $33 for a new Class M-only license, $48 to add motorcycle to a new Texas driver license and $16 for a Class M learner license under 18; the page was dated, so confirm current fees with DPS. Approved training courses charge their own fees. The content outline spreads questions across 10 areas; the largest are SEE Strategy, Intersections and Conspicuity (16.0%); Crash Avoidance and Hazardous Surfaces (14.0%); Basic Vehicle Control: Shifting, Braking and Turning (12.0%). The full list of areas and weights is on the portal exam page. DPS requires approved motorcycle operator training for many applicants and a skills test for minors and for adults without a valid Texas A, B or C license; check the DPS motorcycle license page for your situation.
