Florida Motorcycle Endorsement Knowledge Examination — Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles
The Florida Motorcycle Knowledge Test is part of the separate motorcycle examination that Florida requires under section 322.12 of the Florida Statutes: a knowledge test on motorcycle operation and traffic law plus a demonstration of control. The department may exempt you if you hold a completed approved rider course certificate, and it does not publish the number of questions, time limit or pass mark. SummitCert's portal offers explained practice questions drawn from the Florida Motorcycle Handbook topics, flashcards, a timed practice set and progress tracking.

Florida Motorcycle Knowledge Test exam requirements & cost
Straight from the certifying body — separate from what we charge for the study portal.
Section 322.12(5) of the Florida Statutes requires a separate motorcycle examination made up of a knowledge examination on motorcycle operation and motorcycle traffic law and an actual demonstration of ordinary and reasonable control. The department may exempt an applicant who presents a completed department-approved motorcycle rider course certificate. FLHSMV does not publish the number of questions, the time limit or the pass mark; this portal's practice set has 25 questions, which is our own design. FLHSMV does not publish a passing score for the motorcycle knowledge examination, so this guide does not state one. The practice set here is a study tool, not a prediction of your result. The FLHSMV pages did not list a fee for the motorcycle knowledge examination, so none is quoted; check the department's fee schedule. The content outline spreads questions across 8 areas; the largest are Crash Avoidance, Dangerous Surfaces and Mechanical Problems (18.0%); SEE, Intersections and Increasing Rider Visibility (16.0%); Lane Position, Following Distance, Passing and Lane Sharing (14.0%). The full list of areas and weights is on the portal exam page. Eligibility and age rules for a Florida motorcycle endorsement are set by FLHSMV; this guide did not confirm them on an official page, so check the department before you apply.
