The P.E.R.T. has three separate placement subtests: Mathematics, Reading and Writing, each a computer-adaptive, multiple-choice test of 30 items (25 operational and 5 unscored field-test items). The tests are untimed, and the state-established college-ready standard scores are Mathematics 114, Reading 106 and Writing 103 (Florida Department of Education). This portal's practice mock has 75 questions across the three subtests. The P.E.R.T. is not pass/fail. It reports placement scores, and the state-established college-ready standards are Mathematics 114, Reading 106 and Writing 103. No student fee is quoted here: an older Florida Department of Education FAQ describes a small per-subtest unit price paid by the school, and the current charge was not confirmed. Placement testing applies to students entering a Florida College System institution who are not exempt (for example, many Florida public high school graduates and active-duty military are exempt under section 1008.30, F.S.).
