The Texas General Lines Life, Accident and Health agent exam (InsTX-LAH05) is the written licensing examination for the General Lines Life, Accident and Health Agent license in Texas. It is issued under the authority of the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI); examination administered by Pearson VUE. The exam has 130 questions and a time allowance of 150 minutes. The Texas handbook explains that results are reported on a scale on which 70 is the passing score; a score below 70 shows how close you came rather than the number or percentage of questions answered correctly. US$49 per examination attempt, paid to Pearson VUE when you reserve (Texas candidate handbook, Available Exams and Fees). The content outline spreads questions across 13 areas; the largest are Types of Health and Accident Insurance Policies (12.31%); Types of Life Insurance Policies (11.54%); Life Insurance Policy Riders, Provisions, Options, and Exclusions (11.54%). Texas requires state-approved prelicensing education for most lines, fingerprinting and a TDI license application (US$50 per license type per the handbook); confirm the current requirements with the TDI before you schedule. This portal prepares you for the written exam; it does not replace Texas prelicensing education or the state's license application.
