Free ARDMS OB/GYN Exam Flashcards

Uterine length is measured on a midline sagittal view from the fundus to the external cervical os, and depth (anteroposterior) is taken perpendicular to length at the widest point of the corpus. Width comes from a transverse view. Using fundus-to-os landmarks gives reproducible numbers across examiners, whereas starting at the internal os or cutting the cervix out would systematically shorten the length and confuse comparison with prior studies.
