Financial Management (FM) is a paper in the Applied Skills module of the ACCA Qualification, set by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. It tests the knowledge and skills of a finance manager responsible for a business's finance function — investment, financing and dividend-policy decisions — and it is the paper that underpins Advanced Financial Management (AFM) later in the qualification. To start Applied Skills you must have completed the Applied Knowledge exams, hold the ACCA Diploma in Accounting and Business (RQF Level 4), or hold a relevant accounting or finance qualification at degree level; ACCA's exam progression rules say papers must be taken in modular order, but within a module you can attempt them in any order, and a student can sit at most four exams in a cycle and eight distinct exams in a calendar year. The exam fee is charged per paper: for the December 2026 sitting ACCA's UK fees page lists £160 at standard entry and £409 at late entry, with the same page noting that fees depend on your region (for example, India's September 2026 standard entry is listed at £151). Separately you pay ACCA's one-off registration fee (£89 on the UK page) and an annual subscription (£140 for 2026). The exam is a three-hour computer-based test with an extra 10 minutes beforehand to read the instructions, a formulae sheet and discount and annuity tables are provided, and the pass mark is 50%, the same as every ACCA Qualification exam.
