Convert the dose from mg/L to lbs/day using the standard factor 8.34 lbs/gal: lbs/day = dose (mg/L) x flow (MGD) x 8.34. Here that is 15 x 2.5 x 8.34, about 313 lbs/day. Operators work in mg/L for chemistry but log and order chemical in pounds, so this conversion is the everyday bridge between the two, and getting the flow value in MGD (not GPM or GPD) right is what most often trips up the calculation.
