The Pennsylvania salesperson examination has a national portion of 80 scored multiple-choice questions in 150 minutes and a Pennsylvania portion of 40 scored questions in 60 minutes; each portion also carries 5 to 10 unscored pretest questions (Pearson VUE candidate handbook). The minimum passing score is 75 percent on each portion (60 of 80 national, 30 of 40 state), and the portions can be passed on different dates. This portal's practice mock has 120 questions covering both portions. You need at least 75 percent on each portion: 60 of 80 on the national portion and 30 of 40 on the Pennsylvania portion. Both portions are required, and they can be passed on different dates. The Pearson VUE handbook (March 2026) lists exam fees of $52 for the national portion and $49 for the Pennsylvania portion, paid at the time of reservation. Fees are forfeited if you miss your appointment without notice. The content outline spreads questions across 13 areas; the largest are National Portion: Real Estate Contracts and Agency (13.3%); National Portion: Real Property Characteristics, Legal Descriptions, and Property Use (9.2%); National Portion: Property Value and Appraisal (9.2%). To take the salesperson examination you must be at least 18 years old, a high school graduate or equivalent, and have completed 75 hours (5 credits) of basic real estate courses at an approved provider, according to the Pearson VUE handbook.
