The ASIS Certified Protection Professional (CPP) is designed for senior-level security managers and requires 5 to 7 years of security-related work experience, including at least 3 years in responsible charge of a security function, along with current full-time employment in a security role and no disqualifying criminal history. The exam consists of 200 scored multiple-choice questions plus 25 unscored pretest questions (225 total), covering seven domains: security principles and practices, business principles and practices, investigations, personnel security, physical security, information security, and crisis management. The application/exam fee is $580 for ASIS members and $910 for nonmembers, which includes a non-refundable $160 processing fee; reduced rates apply for candidates in World Bank-designated Emerging Market countries.
