Free CELPIP-General Test Flashcards

The mix of casual and formal register points to people with unequal or professional ties, such as a customer and a manager, rather than two friends. Reading this early gives you a frame for everything that follows, because it predicts who can make decisions and who needs to ask for favours. In the Listening problem-solving part, questions often turn on who offers what to whom, so knowing the roles keeps you from mixing up the speakers when two similar suggestions are made later.
