Free California Guard Card Flashcards

The primary role of a guard is to protect people and property for the employer, not to enforce the law. Responsibility before an incident is prevention, and during or after it is to observe and report. This matters because a guard who sees the job as law enforcement may take risks, use force or make arrests that the guard has no duty to make and that can lead to civil or criminal liability.
