Arizona Real Estate Salesperson Pass Rate, Format & Study Guide

A real reference for anyone preparing for the Arizona Real Estate Salesperson Examination (General and State portions) — Arizona Department of Real Estate exam — pass rate, retake policy, how it's scored, and a practical study timeline. This is independent reference content, not a sales page: everything below is sourced from Arizona Real Estate Salesperson's own certifying body.

What the Arizona Real Estate Salesperson exam is

The Arizona salesperson examination consists of a General exam of 150 minutes and a State exam of 90 minutes, delivered by Pearson VUE; the two are separate examinations (Pearson VUE candidate handbook, February 2026). The score is the percentage of questions answered correctly, and you need 75 percent to pass each exam; you may wait 24 hours after a failed exam before retaking it. This portal's practice mock has 140 questions covering both exams.

Why it matters

Passing both exams is a required step toward an Arizona real estate salesperson license, which you need to represent buyers and sellers for compensation in Arizona.

Who this exam is for

People starting a real estate career in Arizona who have finished their 90 hours of prelicensure education, and candidates retaking one exam.

Pass rate

The certifying body does not publicly publish an official pass rate for this exam. Be wary of third-party sites citing a specific number here — treat any pass-rate claim you see elsewhere for this exam as unverified.

If you don't pass — retake policy

The handbook says the cost of each retake is the same as the first attempt and the General and State exams are separate examinations, so you retake only the one you failed. After passing you must apply to ADRE within one year.

How it's scored

The score is reported as the percentage of questions answered correctly, and you need 75 percent to pass each of the General and State exams. Format: General exam 150 minutes and State exam 90 minutes, each scored as a percentage. No official pass rate is available for this exam, so none is quoted here.
